4 Night Ultimate Uluru / Ayers Rock Package

Day 1: Arrive in Uluru - Uluru Field of Light Tour

Arrive in Uluru in the morning or early afternoon and catch the shuttle bus to the resort before beginning to explore Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. You are welcome to take part in the afternoon resort activities including Didgeridoo playing, Spear & Boomerang throwing and Wakagetti Cultural Dancers. In the late afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel to visit the magnificent Field of Light art installation by international artist Bruce Munro.

The Field of Light Star experience begins at remote desert location with majestic views of Uluru. From a raised viewing platform you will watch as the last sun rays hit Uluru and as darkness gradually falls and the coloured lights of the glass spheres come to life you walk through the Field of Light. You are then welcomed back for sparkling wine and canapés whilst viewing the illuminated installation in the darkness.

Day 2: Around Uluru - Uluru Sunrise & Guided Base Walk and Sounds of Silence Dinner

You will rise early enjoying the sunrise as you walk around the base of Uluru to explore the most profound and culturally significant monolith in Australia. You will embrace the culture, geology and environment that is the essence of this amazing monolith. Your guide will tell the cultural Aboriginal creation stories associated with this central Australian icon. Along the trail you will visit waterholes and the rock art sites of the ancients and learn of Uluru's cultural significance to the Anangu (local Aboriginal) people. You will witness a spectacular sunrise and absorb the majesty of this powerful place.

Then you have a free afternoon to relax around the resort - you may laze by the pool or participate in the resorts afternoon activities.

Late afternoon you will be picked up and taken to the award winning Sounds of Silence Dinner. Sip on a glass of champagne with the sound of a lone didgeridoo filling the air as the sun slowly sets over Uluru. You will then be taken to a private dining setting in the middle of the desert for an unforgettable fine dinning experience that includes a star talk.

Day 3: Around Uluru - Kata Tjuta Sunrise Tour & Wintjiri Wiru Twilight

Travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) where your Driver Guide will explain the geological history of the area. Kata Tjuta simply translated means "heads many" and given the 36 steep sided domes of Kata Tjuta, it is aptly named. Watch the spectacular sunrise over Kata Tjuta with Uluru in the distance from the western dune viewing area, light breakfast included.

You will then head into the gorge. As you approach the entrance to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind (Walpa) that whistles between the massive domes that shape Kata Tjuta, the result of eons of weathering and continual upheaval, your guide will share the significance of this men’s sacred ceremonial site. Take a stroll between these mighty conglomerate rock walls as your guide explains how the environment and the geology have evolved over millions of years.

Head back to your hotel to enjoy lunch and a restful afternoon back at the resort. You will be picked up prior to sunset with your Wintjiri Wiru experience beginning deep in the desert. After a short journey from Ayers Rock Resort, take a gentle stroll through the desert along an elevated walkway until you reach the open-air theatre, set upon a dune top with incredible views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. You’ll enjoy Australian wines and a delicious cheese and dessert selection while you marvel at the beauty of Uluru’s silhouette in twilight as darkness falls. Take a seat in the sustainably built theatre and watch a chapter of the ancestral Mala story light up the Australian desert skies with choreographed drones, lasers, and projections. Feel a powerful connection to country as you listen to a traditional Inma soundtrack and narration in the local Pitjantjatjara language, and immerse yourself in a living story. After the show, you will return to your hotel via coach transfer.

Day 4: Kings Canyon Day Trip

Your day starts early as you travel to Kings Creek Station for breakfast, then on to the amazing Kings Canyon. The canyon is set amoung an incredible ancient Australian landscape that is sacred ground for the Ulpinyali and Lilla people.

For the more energetic you may participate in a 6km Rim Walk where you'll climb up a 100m cliff face and walk around the rim of the canyon. This walk has the most impressive views. For those that want a more relaxing experience, the creek bed walk is ideal and you can take a little more time to enjoy your surroundings before setting off on your 2km stroll to take in the impressive rim views.

Then you're off to Kings Canyon resort - a true oasis in the outback where you will enjoy lunch (own expense) and bring your swimmers if you want to take a dip in the pool. Then it's a leisurely ride back to Uluru enjoying the amazing outback scenery.
