3 Night Uluru DIY / Ayers Rock & Kata Tjuta

Day 1: Arrive in Uluru - Uluru Field of Light Star Pass

Arrive in Uluru in the morning or early afternoon and catch the shuttle bus to the resort before beginning to explore Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. You are welcome to take part in the afternoon resort activies including Didgeridoo playing, Spear & Boomerang throwing and Wakagetti Cultural Dancers.

In the late afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel to visit the magnificent Field of Light art installation by international artist Bruce Munro. The Field of Light Star experience begins at remote desert location with majestic views of Uluru and from a raised viewing area you will watch as the last sun rays hit Uluru and as darkness gradually falls and the coloured lights of the glass spheres come to life you walk through the Field of Light. You are then welcomed back for sparkling wine and canapés whilst viewing the illuminated installation in the darkness.

Departs: Daily 30 minutes prior to sunset from Ayers Rock Resort Returns: Approximately 1.5 hours after sunset to Ayers Rock Resort.

Day 2: Kata Tjuta Sunrise & Uluru Sunset:

Kata Tjuta Sunrise & Walk

Rise early this morning to travel to the Kata Tjuta sunrise viewing area via shuttle bus. The sand dunes offers an incredible view as the sun rises over Kata Tjuta, with the opportunity take amazing photos. You then have the option to select the Walpa Gorge walk (1hr) or the Valley of the Winds walk (3hrs). At the end of your selected self guided walk, your driver will return you to your hotel with free time now to relax and enjoy the attractions around the resort.

Walpa Gorge (meaning windy) is a lush desert haven for plants and animals. The gentle but rocky track will lead you into a world of rare plant species and lush evergreen shrubs known as Spearwood as you explore a one hour walk through the gorge
Valley of the Winds walk lets visitors immerse themselves among Kata Tjuta’s domes. It features unparalleled views of the spectacular Mars-like landscape surrounding Kata Tjuta from two lookout points along the track. This walk is classed as Grade 4. It is steep, rocky and difficult in places, so please be careful and take your time.

Uluru Sunset

After Lunch you'll have time to explore the resort or just enjoy some rest and relaxation before being picked up late afternoon by your shuttle. You’ll head into the National Park and onto the sunset viewing platform. Watch the magnificent colour changes over Uluru as the sun sets in the horizon and take photos to treasure. Following the sunset you will return to the resort.

Day 3: Uluru Sunrise & Base Walk:

You will be picked up prior to sunrise and taken to the sunrise viewing platform to watch the desert come alive and take photos as the sun hits the rock. You are then free to explore the base of Uluru at your leisure and the Cultural Centre. You can walk the full base or just the highlights as the shuttle bus can collect you from specific locations around the rock and at the Cultural Centre. We can include an audio guide app for an additional $19.99/person.

You will board your selected return shuttle to take you back to the resort for a free afternoon and evening to relax or we can include tours such as the Wintju Wiri light and drone show, or perhaps a sunset camel tour for additional cost.
