Day 1: Arrive in Alice Springs

Arrive in Alice in the morning or around midday, pick up your rental vehicle and begin exploring some of the many attractions within Alice Springs. Whether you want to explore the local wildlife at the Reptile centre or renowned Desert Park, or the explore the history or the Old Telegraph station or perhaps visit the School of the Air (the worlds largest classroom, there is plenty to see and do. Perhaps wonder through the museums and art galleries and explore the local indigenous culture. Spend the afternoon exploring before settling into your accommodation.

Day 2: Balloons & West MacDonnell Ranges:

An early morning start with a spectacular balloon ride. Watch the sun rise & the kangaroos, wallabies and kites in their early morning activities. Champagne and nibblies awaits you on return ( - after the balloon has been packed up).

Spend the rest of the day exploring the spectacular gorges and gaps of the West MacDonnell Ranges at your own pace. The road is bitumen all the way till Ormiston Gorge and Glen Helen Lodge. Choose from the 9 attractions depending on your fitness level and interests, before returning to Alice Springs.

Day 3: Alice Springs to Wattarka (Kings Canyon)

Spend part of the day driving from Alice Springs to Kings Canyon. Spend the afternoon and therefore cooler part of the day exploring the shear cliff walls of Kings Canyon. The package deal includes an 8min heli flight so that your introduction to the Canyon and surrounding landscape is from the air. After your heli flight check in to your accommodation and enjoy the premium Light Towers experience in the golden glow of sunset. Enjoy canapes and drinks with native influence. (You can upgrade to a longer heli-flight at additional cost)

Day 4: Wattarka (Kings Canyon) to Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Wake up early to enjoy a full buffet breakfast at the resort belfore heading to the Canyon. The early morning start gives you the opportunity to do the complete Kings Canyon walk during the coolest part of the day ( subject to health and fitness). Spend part of the day driving from Wattarka to Uluru along Luritja Rd and Lasseter highway. A late morning departure allows you to arrive and settle into Ayers Rock Resort in a relaxed state.

In the late afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel to visit the magnificent Field of Light art installation by international artist Bruce Munro. The Field of Light Star experience begins at remote desert location with majestic views of Uluru and from a raised viewing area you will watch as the last sun rays hit Uluru and as darkness gradually falls and the coloured lights of the glass spheres come to life you walk through the Field of Light. You are then welcomed back for sparkling wine and canapés whilst viewing the illuminated installation in the darkness.

Day 5: Exploring Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park:

A magnificent day exploring the Kata-Tjuta National Park. Your morning starts early with the immersive Sunrise Journeys experience. Take a seat on the floating platform overlooking Uluru & Kata Tjuta and watch the artwork of three prolific female Anangu artists be recreated on the desert landscape using laser and light projection. The artwork depicts the artists deep connection to culture and country. Following the display enjoy a hearty breakfast of native flavours as you watch the sunrise.

For the remainder of the morning we recommend you spend the time driving or walking around the base of the rock exploring the many aspects of this amazing monolith.

In the afternoon visit Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) a collection of weathered red domes, located 50 km from Ayers Rock along a sealed road. There are two formal walks at Kata Tjuta and both are recommended. Many people believe Kata Tjuta is even more spectacular than the Rock. You will have time tomorrow also to visit Kata Tjuta so you may prefer to spend the afternoon relaxing around the resort before your dinner.

Late afternoon you will be picked up and taken to the Sounds of Silence Dinner. Watch the sunset over the Rock and fine dinning under the stars.

Day 6: Around Uluru (or onto Alice Springs):

After a busy day yesterday you have the option of sleeping in, or for the more adventurous consider heading into the national park early to experience a sunrise at Kata Tjuta, before embarking on the Walpa or Valley of the Winds walk before returning to the resort.

In the late morning or early afternoon you will have a 40min scenic flight to take photos of this extraordinary landscape. The aerial view puts the size of Uluru and Kata Tjuta into perspective against the flat desert.

Back at the resort you can you can spend the rest of the day exploring the magnificent region of Uluru & surrounds.

Alternatively if you are returning to Alice you can begin the 450km drive back to Alice Springs. Your departure time will depend on the attractions you want to see from these two locations and along the Lasseter and Stuart Highways.
